Reviewing my Bookish Resolutions for 2023

It’s nearly the end of 2023 and that means it’s time to start reviewing my Bookish Resolutions for 2023. These are the reading goals I set specifically with my reading in mind. Let’s see how I did in 2023.

Reviewing my Bookish Resolutions for 2023

Read 100 Books

Sadly not. Life crept up on me this year, as did a pretty big reading slump. I managed to read 89 books this year so I’m still very happy with how much I read.

Read 50 new authors

I managed it! I read 53 new authors in 2023. Pretty good going.

Read 5 books over 500 pages

Well if you include Harry Potter then I did read 5 books over 500 pages, however, that wasn’t the original plan. The only book that wasn’t Harry Potter was A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara which was on my TBR for over 3 years. I’m so glad I finally got around to it.

Read 75 new books

Again, just slightly shy of this aim with 67 new reads in 2023.

Read books from 3 other countries

I read 14 books from other countries this year, including France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, The Netherlands and the USA. So I smashed this target!

Read 1 book from the 18th century

I succeeded! This year I listened to the audiobook of Les Liaisons Dangereuses by Pierre Cholderos which was published in 1782 in France.

Not my best bookish year, but still an enjoyable one. How did you do with your Bookish Resolutions for 2023? Let me know in the comments below.
