How to Make Your Home Cosy this Autumn

Cosy is my favourite word for describing Autumn, and there’s nothing like getting your home extra cosy for the Autumn season. Today I thought I would share a post on how to make your home cosy this autumn.

From blankets to candles, there are plenty of ways to give your house that extra seasonal feel. Here are my top recommendations.

Autumnal Candles

Candles are a great way to light the house as the nights draw in earlier, but they also smell amazing. I particularly enjoy Yankee Candles and Lily Candles for gorgeous scents that last all day.

Blankets

There is nothing better than getting comfy on the sofa with a ton of blankets wrapped around you. It’s the best thing at the end of the day.

Add Autumnal Decor

From leaf decor that you can hang on the walls or drape across shelves, to table centrepieces and fairy lights. There are tons of autumnal decorations available at stores like Next and TK Maxx. Don’t forget Halloween is coming too!

Update soft furnishings

From the cushions to the blankets you use, to table cloths and more. Updating soft furnishings with warm tones like oranges and yellows will change the whole vibe of your home.

Treat yourself to some fresh flowers or plant

Whether you’re a flower girl – like me! – or a plant parent, then why not treat yourself to some new florals? There are plenty of autumnal flowers and plants available. I recommend using Bloom & Wild, as you can get both bouquets and plants. They also have seasonal picks.

Clean the house

Cleaning the house is not necessarily autumnal, but much like spring cleaning, it’s great to give the house a spruce up for the new season. And I’m not talking a simple wipe down, but clean the oven and shower screen kind of cleaning. You can even use seasonal scented cleaning products to give it that added Autumn feel.

Those are my tips for how to make your home cosy this autumn. How would you make your home extra cosy? Let me know in the comments below.
